Rainbow Fruit Logo. In the small town of Rainbow Beach, QLD, a fruit and vegetable barn uses my logo to brand throughout the entire shop.
Sydneys Riders is a communtiy of motorbike riders and for the last year and a half I have worked along side the founders, helping them with there digital platform and graphics. Designer for Sydneys Riders to me isn’t just a side project, I am apart a community that I am actively promoting and partaking in. My position allows me to be a creative thrill seeker. I take care of the tech and graphic side of things whilst riding amongst free spirited folks.
Now, every man and his dog has dabbled in t-shirt design. For me, my inspiration stemmed from wanting to create a line of mountain bike clothing for women.
Firstly, mountain bike fashion is a sight for sore eyes. With baggy shorts just above the knee, knee pads, gloves and baggy t-shirts, although all very practical, I just felt like a big potato. The other problem, apart from the lack of fashion sense was that mountain bike clothing is designed and tailored towards men, rather than women. And on the rare occasion that t-shirts are fit for the women physic, it is usually pink or colours “associated” with our gender.
Rant over.
Sketching a few ideas, I wanted to find a print supplier who offered quality shirts and did a test run on a mushroom design I made for myself and girl gang. Versatile mushrooms.
The future of my t-shirt design is grim however, as the only output that has made it to production has nothing to do with mountain biking riding.
